John McLean,

CIM, FCSI
Financial Advisor
Head of Business Development
Lori Pinkowski

John is passionate about helping people and as one of the team’s senior financial advisors, he works with clients to develop and review their tailored financial plans and investment strategies, ensuring they are on track to achieve their financial goals. As part of the management team along with Lori, he also helps manage the operations of the office.

Starting in the investment industry as a trader in 1998 exposed John to the highs and lows of the tech bubble early in his career. This background gives him a strong technical foundation and his 18 years of broad experience in banking and investments allows him to provide our clients with exceptional service and expert advice. He attended BCIT and Simon Fraser University where he studied financial planning and business administration. Recognizing the importance of continuing education, John regularly expands on his studies in portfolio management and financial planning, having already earned his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation and currently on track to finalize his certified financial planner (CFP®) designation this year. He has also spent multiple terms acting as treasurer and board member for a non-profit organization, overseeing the budgeting and governance of a corporation with multi-million dollar annual revenues and government grants.

Outside the office, John and his wife are proud parents to their two teenage daughters and love to travel. While they can’t bring their white German shepherd “Cooper” and yorkie “Joey” with them on many of those trips, the dogs often follow them everywhere else. On weekends, John tries to golf or fish as much as he can.
